Get your house sale-ready this Spring

It’s a commonly held belief that Spring / early summer is the best time of year to sell a home…with all that extra sunshine, flowers in bloom and the brighter nights, we are tempted to agree.

Faced with a higher degree of competition than in the colder months, it is vital that you maximise the appeal of your home, to ensure that all important sale.   1. Stand out from the competition

  2. Improve the curb appeal

    The outside of your home is the very first thing that your potential buyers will see so its vital that you get the exterior looking its best. Spend some time tidying up the garden – get that lawn mowed and get rid of the flowerbed clutter. A jet-hose down a driveway will make a huge difference as will investment into a good window cleaning service to de-grime and get them looking sparkly clean.

  3. Fix it, don’t forget it

    You know yourself that any savvy buyer will be looking for ways to bring you down on your price, so be proactive and ensure that you take care of all of the easy fixes. If you need new carpet, a lick of paint, or a new stretch of fencing to make your home move-in-ready, your investment into making these changes might just be the difference between a buyer choosing your home, over a neighbour’s property.

  4. De-clutter

    Having lots of personal items lying around will not help a potential buyer to imagine themselves living there. Create a clear (and clean) space by packing away excessive ornaments, photographs and furniture to show your home off in its most spacious and neutral light. A lick of neutral paint and a really good clean and your room is good to go.

  5. Clean and clean again!

    It goes without saying that you need to put a bit of elbow-grease into your cleaning when it comes to selling your home. A fresh smelling home that looks spotless will give you the sales advantage that you are after. Make sure that your carpet and curtains are spick and span – perhaps recovering or adding a tactical throw to a sofa that has seen better days.
